This is my final entry, and my final assignment to be completed for my Masters.  I can’t believe it is finally here!

For this final journal entry, we have been asked to reflect on how action research has impacted our thinking in regards for action research for teachers.  In my opinion, action research is very beneficial in improving teaching practices.  This is one of the best ways to analyze what is going on at your particular school with your particular students.  As I’ve said before, my results could have possible been different if I had done my study in another setting.  While I think my results can benefit other teachers, the results benefit my students and myself the most.

If ever possible, I think that every single teacher out there should conduct his or her own action research.  Information found could benefit others, but more specifically, would allow teachers to learn more about their own practice.

My action research showed that students’ comprehension increased with the use of graphic organizers.  From all of the data that I collected, the most helpful was the student interviews.  Each individual answer as to WHY the graphic organizer was helping gave me better ways to help my students.  The research I conducted gave me information on my particular students.  While other teachers can use my data to help improve their practice, I don’t feel like they will benefit from the information quite as much as I did.  This is why I would recommend that every teacher conduct his or her own action research when possible!
